My name is Carmela and I'm a passionate creator of gorgeous yarny crochet, knitwear and head designer, maker and founder of TheYarnarium.
I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. My own yarn story began many years ago learning to knit with my mother as a young teen. In 2012, whilst running my own business called Arynvere Bride as a wedding designer/couturier, everything changed when I picked up a crochet hook for the first time! I fell head over heels in love with the rhythm, beauty and therapeutic power of crochet. Although I had already been knitting for a few decades, loved that a simple strand of yarn, a hook and one working loop could create such intricate designs. Of course soon after crochet exploded, expanded and thoroughly modernised to what we know and love today.

Since then, I’ve poured heart and soul into mastering my craft, designing patterns, teaching others, and guiding hundreds of students to learn to crochet, as they discover the creative calm, accomplishment and joy that crochet can bring.
After many wonderful years running my Crate Crochet subscription box business and post those horrific covid years, I was totally burned out! I knew then, it was time to evolve.
What started as a crochet side venture, TheYarnarium, has now grown into a welcoming space filled with purpose, inspiration and most importantly, the sharing of knowledge. Today, it’s home to my newly built online crochet courses, where I teach complete beginners how to go from absolute zero to accomplished crocheters, one stitch at a time.
